long pole days
Tuesdays and Thursdays are very, very long days. On Tuesday I'm in class from 8:40 A.M. to 3:30 P.M. with no breaks. On Thursday, it's 8:40 A.M. to 5:30 P.M., but with a two hour break. I'm not sure which is worse.
I hadn't intended to have such long days. I originally had class on Monday, but after only four people enrolled (four? People hate Mediation that much?) the class was canceled. In the middle of Wills and Trusts on Tuesday morning I received an email informing me that I'd been moved to the Thursday afternoon Mediation class.
It's tough sitting in classrooms for five to seven hours without interruption. By the end of the day today, my head was spinning. This morning I left the house at 7:20 A.M. and I didn't get back until nearly 7:00 P.M.
So that's a long day. But there is a big upside to the scheduling mishap: I only have class two days a week. I have (wait for it) four day weekends. Every weekend! Four days! That seems unbelievably posh and lap-of-luxury. I feel as if I should make lunch plans and salon appointments, except since I'm no longer getting paid that would probably not be such a hot idea.
The long days are tough but that four-day weekend sounds divine! I hope you can use some of it for relaxing and spending time with your boy; I fear if I had a long weekend, I would fritter it away on work, without being very productive.
